Wet-Season Shear Survival Guide for Tropical Barbers

Humid-season barber shear care is simple: clear residue, dry every tool fully and store the kit away from moisture.

A humid shop makes it easier for moisture to remain on a shear after the last client. The best wet-season habit is to finish each day with a dry, protected kit.

Daily routine

Brush away hair and product, clean the shear according to your shop’s process and dry the blades and pivot before storage. Use suitable oil sparingly at the pivot and keep each tool closed in its own case slot.

Watch the storage

Check that the case is dry as well as the shear. Keep cases away from damp benches and wet towels. If you use a desiccant pack, replace or recharge it when needed.

Watch the cut

If the shear begins to pull or drag, clean it and check tension. Arrange service if the edge still does not cut cleanly. A backup cutter keeps the station working while the main pair is away.

The climate care guide and maintenance guide cover the full routine without adding a new calendar for every weather change.
