Classic Handle Shears
Traditional symmetrical handles. Maximum leverage and control for barbers who prefer the classic grip.
More about Classic Handle Shears
Classic (symmetric) handles give you equal leverage on both sides of the pivot — maximum power for heavy cuts. They're the original shear design and still preferred by some experienced barbers for specific techniques. The trade-off is ergonomics: symmetric handles keep your wrist in a higher position during cutting, which can contribute to strain over long days. Most modern barbers have moved to offset, but classic handles remain popular for heavy scissor-over-comb and power cutting.
Frequently asked
Is classic handle bad for your wrists?
Classic handles require more wrist elevation than offset, which can contribute to strain over long days. They offer maximum leverage and control though — some experienced barbers prefer them for specific techniques like heavy over-comb.
