The KE series is Yasaka’s answer for barbers who learned on a classic handle and have no intention of switching. With both finger rings in line, the shear rotates naturally in the hand — handy when you flick between cutting, combing and palming the shear a hundred times per haircut, and the grip many barbering educators still teach first.

Each KE is made in Japan from ATS-314 cobalt stainless steel and ground to a clam-shaped convex edge. That geometry is what gives Japanese shears their signature glide: sections shear away with light pressure, blunt lines stay crisp, and the blade slices cleanly through dense clipper-length hair without folding it. It is equally happy wet or dry, which matters in a barbershop where half your clients sit down with a dry head.

Pick your length to suit your work. The 5.0” is a precision detailer, the 5.5” is the all-round men’s cutting size, and the 6.0” gives you enough blade for scissor-over-comb without the swing of a 7” shear. A lot of barbers pair a 6.0” KE for the bulk of the cut with a shorter shear for finishing.
