Scissor-over-comb purists tend to be straight-handle loyalists, and the Kasho Ivory is built for them. With both rings in line, the shear rotates freely around your thumb — the motion that lets traditional barbers keep the blade parallel to a moving comb, flick into a palmed grip, and work a clipper-free short back and sides at speed.

The blades are where the money went. Kasho grinds them fully convex from VG-10W stainless steel — an advanced evolution of the Japanese “super steel” family — then mirror-polishes the edge. At 58-60 HRC the edge stays keen through commercial volume, slicing cleanly through both wet sections and the dry, springy hair that dominates barbershop work. The smooth-touch turning assembly lets you dial tension by feel, no tools needed, and the balanced classic frame reduces strain through the hand, wrist and shoulder.

Four sizes cover the whole craft: 4.5” for ear- and neckline-level detail, 5.0” for fringe and precision work, 5.5” as the classic all-round men’s cutting length, and 6.0” for barbers who want extra blade across the comb.
