The Jaguar range
Jaguar lines step up in steel: stainless chromium for Pre Style and White Line, molybdenum for Silver Line, and vanadium for Gold Line cutters.
Jaguar is a German maker, and every Jaguar shear we stock is German-made. The range is built in lines that step up in steel and edge: Pre Style and White Line for entry-level stainless chromium shears, Silver Line in molybdenum steel with semi-convex blades, and Gold Line in vanadium steel with convex blades. Jaguar also makes the A-Line and cutting combs in our accessories range.
Who Jaguar is for
Apprentices who want a German-made first pair on a classic or offset handle, and working barbers who want a semi-convex or convex edge without moving to Japanese premium steels. It also has left-hand cutters, thinners and sets at entry level.
The Jaguar lines
- Pre Style: the entry range. The Pre Style Ergo has a classic handle and the Pre Style Relax an offset handle, each with a matching thinner and set. The Pre Style Ergo set pairs the cutter with a 28-tooth thinner.
- White Line: classic-blade cutters in stainless chromium steel, such as the White Line Satin in 5.5″ to 7.0″ and the Satin Plus.
- More entry models: the Silver Ice in 5.5″ to 7.0″, the crane-handle Smart, and the colourful Pastell Plus cutters and thinners.
- Silver Line: molybdenum steel with semi-convex blades, such as the CJ4 Plus and the FAME offset cutter, plus the crane-handle CM36 thinner.
- Gold Line: vanadium steel with convex blades on offset handles: the Diamond E Offset, the Xenox and their thinners and sets.
- Left-handed: the Pre Style Relax left-handed set and the Gold Line Diamond E left-hand cutter and thinner.
- Combs: A-Line combs, the A500 cutting comb and a 9-piece comb set with case.
Choosing within Jaguar
Start with the handle: Pre Style Ergo and the White Line cutters are classic, while Relax and the Silver and Gold Line cutters are offset. Then pick the edge: a classic blade for blunt lines and over-comb work, a semi-convex or convex edge for slide cutting. Stay in one line if you want the thinner to match.
Price tier
Pre Style and White Line are entry-level, close to Mina. Silver Line is mid-range, and Gold Line is premium, alongside the Japanese cobalt cutters.
Care and servicing
Wipe after each client, oil the pivot at the end of the day and store each shear closed in its own slot. Check the tension as you oil. We do not sharpen in-house; the sharpener questions help you choose a service that handles convex and semi-convex edges. Faults are covered by our warranty.

Questions
Where are Jaguar scissors made?
In Germany. Jaguar is a German maker, and every Jaguar shear we stock is German-made. Its Gold Line cutters use vanadium steel and its Silver Line molybdenum steel.
Which Jaguar should an apprentice buy?
The Jaguar Pre Style Ergo if you trained on level rings, or the Pre Style Relax for an offset handle. Both have matching thinners and sets.
What does Gold Line add?
Vanadium steel and a convex blade with an integrated cutting edge, on offset handles. The Diamond E Offset is the main Gold Line cutter, with a matching thinner and set.
Does Jaguar make left-handed shears?
Yes. The Pre Style Relax comes as a left-hand cutter, thinner and set, and the Gold Line Diamond E as a left-hand cutter and thinner. See left-handed shears.
How do I look after a Jaguar shear?
Wipe it after each client, oil the pivot daily and store it closed in its own slot. When it starts to push or fold hair, send it for sharpening. The care guide has the routine.
